The Innovation Leaders in Sublimation

Octi-Tech was founded to focus on the development of new substrates and processes for digitally decorating a vast array of surfaces (ceramic tiles, plastic, metal, wood, glass and fabrics) and products with full colour photographic images utilising dye sublimation transfer.

Headquartered in Sheffield, Octi-Tech has quickly gained a foothold in the market place and is currently going from strength to strength driven by excellent service, innovative flair, a string of important industry patents and next generation 3D sublimation technology.

With the recent release of new products such as Sublicrylic (substrate range), Digi Coat (coatings) and Visi Sub (Inks & Systems); Octi-Tech continues to blaze the trail as the innovation leader in Sublimation.

What is Sublimation?

Dye Sublimation is a process used in the promotion and gifts industry to transfer full colour photographic images onto specially coated substrate blanks (mugs, awards, shirts, etc.) using ink, heat, pressure and your imagination.

Sublimation ink converts from a solid to a gas without going through a liquid stage. Through pressure and heat, the ink converts to a gas off the paper and accurately embeds on the desired destination surface material. All types of diverse and unusual surfaces can be printed on in this way including: wood, stone, ceramics, metals, plastics, glass and fabrics.

Most of these materials apart from polyester plastics, require a special coating (Digi-Coat available in a spray can) to allow the ink to bond with the surfaces. Most promotional and gift items, such as mugs, are available to purchase pre-coated allowing for quick and easy fulfilment. All you need is your imagination from here!

How does Sublimation work?

Any image on your computer screen can be transferred onto a suitable substrate within minutes with all the detail of the digital original. Its truly stunning. Equally amazing is the relatively low cost to set up a sublimation system. You can be up and running with a decent complete system for around £1500.00, which will allow you to make mugs, mouse pads, t-shirts and hundreds of other types of gifts and promotional items.

From specialist transfer paper, inks, spray coatings, substrate blanks and printing systems; Octi-Tech has everything needed to bring colourful memories to life.
